Terms of service

Clear expectations keep the treasure hunt friendly.

Effective September 1, 2026

General requests

Submitting a form does not create a confirmed appointment, pickup, cleanout, consignment relationship, or guarantee of service. Second Hand Lifestyle may accept, decline, reschedule, or stop any request for safety, condition, capacity, resale suitability, inaccurate information, or any other reason.

Free garage-sale and estate-sale pickups

Accepted merchandise pickups are free. Photos are required. Items must match the submission and be reasonably accessible. Approval and timing are confirmed separately. Hazardous, infested, unsafe, prohibited, or primarily unusable waste may be refused.

Cleanouts

Cleanout services start at $50. Final pricing depends on property size, item volume, labor, transportation, equipment, disposal needs, access, and the amount suitable for resale or donation. Photos and truthful condition disclosures are required. Trash-only properties and properties with active pests, biohazards, hazardous materials, or unsafe structural conditions are not accepted. The quoted amount is due after approval and before equipment is rented or work begins. If Second Hand Lifestyle has already incurred nonrefundable equipment, transportation, or disposal expenses before cancellation, those documented costs may be deducted from any refund.

Consignment agreement

Ownership and acceptance. The consignor confirms that they own the submitted items and have full authority to sell them. Photos are required before approval. Second Hand Lifestyle may reject any item or request before or during intake, including anything materially different from the submitted photos.

Accepted categories. Clothing and accessories; home décor and kitchenware; vintage items and collectibles; toys, books, and media; seasonal merchandise; and working electronics may be considered. Furniture is not accepted. Illegal, stolen, recalled, counterfeit, prohibited, hazardous, infested, moldy, contaminated, substantially unsanitary, or repair-intensive items are refused unless expressly approved where lawful.

Pricing and selling authority. There is no per-item minimum. Second Hand Lifestyle evaluates each submission as a whole and decides what to accept. Items may be priced, discounted, offered, bundled, listed individually, placed in a booth, or sold through any appropriate channel at Second Hand Lifestyle’s sole discretion.

Term and withdrawal. The selling period is three weeks beginning on the date the accepted items are listed. Accepted items are committed for the full term and may not be withdrawn early unless Second Hand Lifestyle approves. Items already sold, reserved, under offer, or in transit cannot be withdrawn.

Split and net proceeds. The consignor receives 75% and Second Hand Lifestyle receives 25% of net proceeds. Net proceeds are the money actually received after platform fees, payment-processing fees, absorbed shipping costs, refunds, discounts, and transaction-specific selling expenses. Buyer-paid shipping that fully covers the cost is not deducted.

Payout timing and methods. Payout is issued within seven business days after Second Hand Lifestyle receives and clears all applicable platform payouts. Platform holds, processing times, shipping delays, returns, disputes, and payment issues may delay payment. Available methods are cash pickup, paper check, Cash App, or Venmo. Cash payouts require acknowledgment of receipt. Optional instant-transfer fees are the recipient’s responsibility.

Unsold items. The consignor selects donation or pickup for unsold items. Pickup items must be retrieved within seven calendar days after notice that the selling term has ended. Items not collected by the deadline are considered abandoned and may be donated or otherwise removed without payment or further storage responsibility.

Returns, damage, and events outside reasonable control. Returned or refunded sales do not generate a consignor payout. A sellable return may be relisted for the remainder of the term or included with unsold items. Second Hand Lifestyle will use reasonable care but is not responsible for carrier damage, customer damage, theft, fire, severe weather, or other events outside its reasonable control. Carrier or insurance recovery actually received is treated as net proceeds and divided under the normal 75/25 split.

Handoff. Approved consignments are received by appointment on a covered porch at a private Amarillo location. The exact address is provided only after approval. No walk-ins, indoor access, or unattended drop-offs are permitted unless expressly approved. Items remain the owner’s responsibility until inspected and accepted.

Direct-sale pricing and tax

Texas state and local sales and use tax is included in the sales price. Purchases made through third-party marketplaces may show tax or other charges according to that platform’s rules and legal obligations.
